NLXL is proud to announce their collaboration with Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel of STUDIO JOB. From their library of icons and images, 7 designs were selected and adapted for NLXL's trademark "9 metre, no repeat" wallpaper collection, one of which is available in two colours. The collection is called: 'Archives by Studio Job'.
The collection reflects a retrospective of the history of Studio Job. They used archetypal drawings and these universal symbols are combined as iconographic elements for patterns, compositions, and embossing, ultimately creating 6 designs: Industry, Labyrinth, Perished, Alt Deutsch, L'Afrique and Withered Flowers (black & colour).
Job Smeets: "Where do you put the paintings"? I hear someone asking, frowning. My reply: "The white wall behind a painting is an idea of modernism. In the 17th and 18th centuries, it was not uncommon to present art on silk wallpaper with very busy patterns. But let me put it another way: you don't need paintings with this wallpaper. This is beyond styling."
