The days are at their longest and the sun is starting to really shine through, so now is the perfect time to have a clear out and spruce up your home to make it an enjoyable place to live this summer. Your home is your sanctuary, and we can help you to make it so beautiful you won’t want to go away on holiday!
Summer is peak time for entertaining friends and family, just make sure you have enough seats for those spontaneous BBQs. Extendable tables can transform a compact space into a party palace. If you have a larger space, a wooden table with benches will allow you to squeeze in the optimum number of guests. Beanbags are also a great option for extra guests to sink into and chill out; they can be used both in and outdoors and be chucked in the shed when not needed!
Bring the outside in…
Nature and greenery create a calming atmosphere and should feature inside your home as well as out. Green walls are a contemporary way to introduce texture or, if you’re not very green fingered, artificial plants have come a long way since the flower arrangements of the eighties.
Besides plants, rustic wooden floors provide a great base for any natural-feeling interior, and the finishing touches can be achieved with some natural scents.
…or the indoors out
Outdoor furniture is more stylish than ever, creating the perfect getaway in your own garden. A large corner sofa is great for socialising, and why not add a super-comfy lounger to keep all for yourself?
From firepits to socialise around to mood-creating lanterns, there is plenty of choice if you want to introduce fire into your outdoor space. Log fires give off an amazing amount of heat to keep your guests warm whilst they gaze at the stars at the end of a great night.
Fires can still play a part indoors in the summer: as the night cools it’s lovely to cosy up besides a small heat source. Bioethanol fires are perfect for this and can make a stunning feature.
Introducing a splash of colour
Remove all of the dark textural accessories and replace them with a splash of colour. Earthborn, our paint supplier, has come up with some great suggestions for colours to brighten up your home this summer; our favourites are ‘The Lido’ mixed with ‘Pumpkin Pie’ or a splash of their ‘Grasshopper’ green. Rugs and throws are one of the easiest ways to introduce colour on a budget, and can be easily changed when you find a new favourite colour.
If you need a helping hand with these elements, check out our new ‘Refresh’ interior design package for only £195. Contact Bonsai for more information: firstname.lastname@example.org.
